LuAnn Sporrer
Known to one and all as Lu, LuAnn has been a member of our team since 2000. Lu's warm and welcoming smile is the first face our patients see when they walk into the office. Known for her great sense of humor, she brings a great deal of experience to her role as Office Manager. Whether making appointments for patients, seeing to financial arrangements or just answering questions posed by patients, Lu is always willing to go that extra mile to see to it that you are comfortable, informed and ready for a lifetime of oral health. Lu is married to Bryan and has a passion for all things furry.
Janet Carroll
Janet has been working in the dental profession for over 25 years. She has been with the Baltimore Center of Advanced Dentistry since 2002. Janet's areas of responsibility include scheduling, insurance liaison and keeping track of our patient's maintenance needs. Janet can be found at the front desk ready to handle any of your questions regarding your treatment. As an expanded function dental assistant she understands what it takes to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. You may even have a chance to have your work assisted by Janet as she frequently fills in assisting both Dr. Bauman and Dr. Matherly. Janet lives with her teenage daughter and enjoys the outdoors and adores all sorts of animals.
Dental Assistants
Kay Wolff
Kay has been in the dental assisting field longer than she cares to admit. She has been an assistant for Dr. Bauman for almost 10 years when she joined the Baltimore Center of Advanced Dentistry staff. Kay holds a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Towson University which comes in handy when trying to keep up with Dr. Bauman's energetic personality. In particular, Kay is wonderful at relaxing patients who may be uncomfortable in the dental chair. Her empathetic manner places all who come in contact with her at ease. Kay has been married to her husband Rob for 27 years and has two 20-something children.
Dental Hygienists
Melanie Caeser
Melanie is the longest serving staff member on our team. We have to be careful not to call her the oldest member of our team. Melanie graduated from Baltimore City Community College 22 years ago with a degree in Dental Hygiene and has been at the Baltimore Center of Advanced Dentistry for 15 years. Additionally she has a degree in Community Health from Towson University. Melanie is passionate about her work and takes pride in the wonderful care she provides. She is dedicated to patients many of whom she has treated for years and treats all of her patients with respect and compassion. Melanie enjoys reading and traveling. She lives in Baltimore County with her husband, Milton and their three young adult children.
Shany Katz
Shany is the newest member of our team. She graduated in May 2009 from the University of Maryland Dental School with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She is rapidly receiving attention for her caring demeanor and the tenderness she shows in treating her patients. Shany has brought many of the latest innovations in Dental Hygiene to our practice.
